We're the Millers

David Clark (Jason Sudeikis) is a low level marijuana dealer who is robbed of his stash and money that he owes to his supplier. In order to repay his supplier, Brad Gurdlinger (Ed Helms), David agrees to traffic a small batch of marijuana over the border from Mexico. To avoid arousing suspicion David creates a fake family (Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Will Poulter) to ease access across the border from Mexico. Upon arrival at the meeting point the volume of drugs David has to smuggle is a lot larger than anticipated.

It has become common place for comedies to feature several bloopers during the end credits, this creates a problem as it seems to appear that the people who made the film were having a much more enjoyable time making the film then we did watching it. Luckily, despite ominous signs, We’re The Millers isn’t one of those films, however, the film’s best bit does take place during the end credits. Things start of badly with a number of well known Youtube videos; viewers are already thinking that they will be the funniest part of the film. Thankfully, the laughs are constant and the majority of the film is enjoyable. It is obvious where the film is heading from the very beginning, and trips to across the border down Mexico way has been done to death in recent years, but good performances from the ensemble cast (with the exception of Ed Helms) keep the film chugging away despite the slightly overlong running time.

  1. A rather short review from you, but still good. I agree about Helms (biggest mistcast of the year) and the YouTube videos (you can't open a movie with that).

    1. Publications often give critics very small word limits, this is just practice at getting my point across in limited words.

      Thanks for the comment.
